Made time for scrapbooking...

At last I got my page finished...Hurah!

When I don't get much time to scrapbook I think I like to use as many tools as possible!
I used a stampin Up punch for the banner, Tim Holtz vintage market for the letters through my Vagabond, an old corner punch and a Martha Stewart punch for the red border of the photo.  Bazzil Basics for the card and the spotty paper is just what I had stashed away. A little bit of card candi to finish it off.  The pencils are a sticker but were just rolled up paper so if I ever need any more they look easy enough to make!  All edged with a red ink pad.

Christmas cards

This is a few samples of what I have been doing for the past few weeks...
A QVC kit, some cardstock, a few embossing folders and some embelishments...

Plus I made these leaving cards using my silhouette (also the stampin up triangle punch for the flags and a bird stamp by Tim Holtz, their name stamped with card candi type face stamp on the planes) for my boss and his wife leaving to go back home to start a property empire!
Ignore the organised chaos of my desk these are both A4 so had no way of taking a picture of them cleanly!

Have had a few days off and back on it tomorrow with a couple more requested cards!  Then I need to make my family christmas cards!

Thanks for looking!

Busy craft desk...

It has been a hot desk for a while!  I have made a card or cards everyday for the past few months but had a break the past few days!  Had fun with the kids and actually started a scrapbook page yesterday. Will finish that before bed tonight!

Here are some cards I made recently...

                                                                Tim Holtz inspired...

For this card I used:
A selection of TH stamps and the Vintage Lace die for the trim.
Black archival ink pad.
Plain black, white and mirri card from Hobbycraft.
Lovingly Barogue (Couture creations) Embossing Folder.
Gems from Poundland.
White ribbon.
Foam Pads & wet glue.

For this card I used:
A selection of TH stamps and the congratulations and happy birthday ticket stamp were free from a magazine.
Blue bazzill cardstock.
White cardstock.
Silver cardstock.
Momento and ink it up ink pads.
Card candi.
Foam pads and tape runner.

The lighter blue on the stamped images is (I think a woodware) embossing powder.  They are really bright! I used a dryer ink pad on the car so I got a patchy effect.  I picked them up at a craft show at olympia years ago but have only just started using them!

This picture doesn't really do these justice, the colour's are like being back in a 90's rave again!!!

Will upload more later in the week, maybe the scrapbook page if I ever finish it!  Pics, layout and words all done but ran out of time!

It's been a while....

But I'm back!

What with the kids, work and my mum being in ill then in hospital life has been a bit chaotic for the past few months...I have still been making cards,  for work and family and preparing for my very first craft fair but not spending much time online!

So Just a quick pic update with two cards I made for a couple of lovely ladies at work...

For Fran....

I used a silhouette stars, pram shape and baby frame cut in pink bazzil cardstock & gingham paper all 12x12. Used 2 of each. Decorated it with peel offs, gems and card candi. Used a Martha Stewart punch for the borders and tied the lace ribbon and added a heart charm. All edged with pink ink.

                                                                           For Kalina...

Not sure of the sex of this baby so went for they yellow and green option.  Yellow bazzil this time and green check K & Co card.  Again the Martha Stewart punch, lace and heart charm and the baby tape was from a jar at the till in my local craft shop!  The stamp is from a Stamping Up baby set mounted on mirri.

It was nice to use all the same kind of materials and tools and get two different cards. Next challenge is to scale down the pram and design smaller cards for sale!

And now it's official I am to be a guest designer for http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/

Exciting times! Please take a look, some lovely card idea's...

Will update with craft stall card pics at the weekend, let's hope it's busy and I sell out!

Till then

Spellbinder and silhouette....

Finally I got the adapters for my vagabond to use my first spellbinder die!

Inspired by Sue Wilson and just had to get one of the flower dies to try out!  I found 3 flowers worked best on a 20cm x 20cm card but they looked a little bare so cut out some leaf type shapes and matt's from my silhouette and had a heap of bits ready.
                                                                         Prep!

Sorry about the glare!

I used all the above with Craftwork Cards sentiments and Tim Holtz Vintage Lace Die, Martha Stewart Punch and added some ribbon and lace.  I used glossy accents for the glue as sticks solid straight away!
The papers are all from Bazzil Basics kit from QVC purchased at christmas and some bling was added at the end in the flowers and on their own for more sparkle.  I loved making these and have lots of leaves left over so will do some more spellbinders cutting when I get 10 minutes peace!

The last two designs I am going to make again with my own design of leaf so I can sell them!  I have run out of that lace and the white ribbon so need to go shopping!  They must look realistic, my 2 year old son asked to smell them!!!

I had a very expensive craft weekend without going to any craft shops!  QVC had a sale so purchased a few items there, had to stock up on A4 cards for work cards and purchased some horse stamps from ebay for a craft fair I'm doing in September for Riding For The Disabled.  I am actually quite scared of horse's but one of my oldest friends is a horse nut and there all the time and has made some lovely fridge magnets to sell so we will be sharing a stall.  Can't wait.  Just need to get stock made up ready in time!
Till next time!

Wedding Bells....

Another one for work....

A colleague married last weekend so for a big enough card from all of us was back to A4!  Didn't want it to be to fussy so decided on black and white.  Used my silhouette to cut the letters and hearts and mounted onto mirri board and black card.  Used plain black card from Hobbycraft and some lovely ridged white card which I had a bit of a fight with the printer with but it was worth it!  The gems are from my wonderful poundland stash!  Then used a Tim Holtz Love and key charm around the white ribbon (also from Hobbycraft) to finish it off.

Really pleased with the result and by looks of the picture's they had a great day and are now having fun in Mexico!

Just making cards ready for a craft fair and starting on Christmas so lots on the go!

Finally... father's day cards!

Thought I had posted these already, goldfish head again!
I have been making some large cards again, more for work and friends which will be posted once they have received them!

This was made for my dad, Kanban clock paper's used with stampin up bunting punch and a clock embossing folder used on the cardboard (it came in the middle of wrapping paper to protect it!).   Just went over it with white ink. The gold Martha Stewart glitter covered some cheap letters I got from ebay ages ago and never used.  Definite improvement!

This one was for my father in law spent ages on the clock mask but was worth it.  He is an Arsenal supporter so had to add the tinge of red. This is still the card from the inside of the wrapping paper! The sock tag came from a free cd and the button from a bulk buy from hobbycraft.  The dad is made from Vintage Market die by Tim Holtz.  I cut the flags free hand and trying to overcome writing on cards gave it a go!

They both loved their cards and my other half ,well he got given a leftover  (below!) from sales of last year as he does nothing for mother's day I feel I shouldn't use my stash on him!!!  Crystal Palace colours so he was happy!

Got inspired by all the Christmas crafting on tv recently and decided to start making Christmas cards...here is the first of the year!  Sorry the pic is wonky, poor photography!  Have a few more bits ready to make up into cards all ready embossed and glittered.  So will get onto those at the end of this week.

Happy Crafting All!

Back on it!

Well May was a busy month so my blog has been a little neglected.  First my mum had a stroke and was in hospital for a few weeks and it was my daughter's 6th birthday. Thankfully my mum is home now and improving each day and my daughter loved her day so a better end to the month than the start!

I made a couple of cards using the same layout, A4 in size which were actually very simple but took an age to make due to waiting for the glue to dry each time you fix an item!

Made for a work colleague...

I also had to make a card for my daughters best friend so used the same idea just made it more colourful!

The small card is a money envelope as she wanted to go on a toys r us shop!  Will try and sell these locally I think as everyone has been raving about them!

Made this today, had a hungover other half, kids who are moody and wanted to play in their room so I was happy at my desk for a few hours playing with a new Tim Holtz mask and trying to get ahead of myself for a change!

The brown paper is from the inside of a roll of gift paper and the tag from a free cd from a magazine.  This cost pennies to make!

And finally my daughter's birthday card!

Going to see some boats on the river Thames tomorrow morning and then baking in the afternoon for a street party on Monday so will have to wait and craft again from Tuesday!

Card
A card that I may just put in a frame and not give it away!
I made the topper first playing around with some new Tim Holtz stamps, cut the butterflies using my silhouette onto white paper which I inked and stamped.  Used a Tim Holtz vintage die on some corrigated card and added a coordinating ribbon and button.

Mini book
Covered with handmade type paper. Covered and stamped each page and added ribbons and glitter flowers. Stamped and embossed also.

Sport on tv all weekend = crafting for me weekend!

Hellooo!
Well being banished to my craft area was such a great way to spend a weekend.  I made this card with left over things lying about!  I cut the heart out using the silhouette and edged with green ink and added the gemstone.  The scrap of green was embossed and sanded and mounted onto mirri then the lace ribbon stuck on and the white ribbon tied around it.

The green leaf paper was my inspiration for this card. It is from the first TSV I got from QVC around 4-5 years ago!  I decided it was time to use up all the old stuff I have that I don't tend to reach for.  I folded the front of the card in half and covered the part that shows with the green leaf paper and edged with the same green ink pad. Added the topper by laying the card flat (to make sure the top of it stayed within the size of the card!) and stuck on the heart with foam pads.   Stamped the happy birthday in white, tried to emboss it at first but it wasn't readable!  Trial and error but not a very good stamp to be honest and I wish I'd changed it but it all works together so I didn't want to pull it all apart!

Mounted all the layers using foam pads under the mirri layers and added it to the bottom of the card so it would hold up the front and added the card candi with foam pads.  Done!

I was also completing some secret stuff that I can't put on here yet! And I can now share a birthday card I made for a friend at work who kindly requested I made her card!  She loved it :0)

I used an A4 card,  covered in Tim Holtz paper which I had stamped and heat embossed. The Happy Birthday topper was all cut out with my silhouette and I added the glittered star wire ribbon.

More sunshine on a rainy day...

Another sunshine card!
Used the same TH stamp for the sentiment as the previous card, then mounted onto black card and added the black gem stones,  Embossed the dragonfly's again mounted onto black card after sanding and adding black ink to the edges with a sponge.  I used a TH Tattered Floral die for the flower. I cut a large and small rounded flower out of white vellum and the smaller one again in the yellow card.  I inked the white flowers with yellow brilliance ink pad then went around the edges with black on the sponge again. The large gem stone was clear but I coloured it with a black pro marker so it would match!  Stuck it all together with foam pads to give some dimension. The warm wishes sentiment is from an old QVC stamp set and again backed by black card and added a couple of gem stones.  The ribbon is dovecraft and stuck this down with tape and added the bow using silicone glue.

Now this is what is on my desk at the moment....

...will put up the finished result tomorrow once the silicone glue is dry!!!

Sunshine on a rainy day...

Was so dark earlier I needed some colour...

The card base is from QVC as is the We Are Memory Keepers 72 & Sunny papers in the yellow and orange.  The stamp is from Tim Holtz Urban Chic collection and the ribbon from my local craft shop (had to buy it in pink and green as well...already have blue!).  The flowers my mum gave me in a bag in lots of colours and the gem stones are papermania.

I used a butterfly embossing folder through my Vagabond and sanded it with the We Are Memory Keepers heart sander.  Stamped the sentiment with black Ink It Up and edged all the paper with this and the Rocket Red Gold Dew Drop Brilliance ink pad.  Taped the ribbon to the band of orange card and mounted the sentiment with foam pads.  Made a bow and attached with silicone glue and did the same for the flowers.  This was made up of scraps of paper left from other projects.  Cheap and cheerful!

Ill but inspired!

Have been in bed ill for a few days, but I was inspired by a card on QVC UK using this heart Tim Holtz stamp.  Love this stamp and don't use it enough!

The paper is from We R Memory Keepers 72 & Sunny pad and cut with a corner punch.  Inked all the edges with a green ink pad, then black.  Stamped the scrolls in the corners and went round with a ink blending tool foam pad (not on the tool, wanted a less is more approach!).  Stamped the heart and once dry coloured in with Canary Yellow, Berry Red  and Lime Green ProMarkers.

Stamped the sentiment from the same TH Urban Chic stamp set, cut around and made a little tag. The black ribbon is Dovecraft.  Added the craftwork cards card candi, topper and sentiment with foam pads.  Will be making a few of these tomorrow in different colours for friends birthdays!

First Trip To The Barbers!

My mum has been nagging me for a while to get my sons hair cut.  He had a head full of curls so was a very difficult moment for me!  Her only stipulation was to save a curl.  I made it into a card for her, added some photo's to the middle of the card and wrote on the back.

I used an embossing folder "borrowed" from my mum to do the oval and just cut around the edges, this is bazzill cardstock.  Also embossed the back blue card with a spotty embossing folder.  The sticker and round mount is by K & Company and the lace is an off cut just taped at the back.  Inked around the gingham paper with sky blue dew drop ink pad and added a few gem stones. Added the layers with foam pads for a raised effect.  The button is from a huge bargain bag from Hobbycraft and the blue striped twine I made with white twine and sky blue pro marker around a ruler.
The Star is the curl which was a nightmare to attach so used silicone glue and added the gingham bow from a QVC set of ribbons.  I think I will make myself something similar and frame it. Much better than being stuck hidden in a scrapbook or in an envelope tucked away somewhere!

Before!

During....  Poor fella lol!

Looking smart checking out the wine list!

Love these picture's... soon to be scrapbooked!

The last two 30th Cards...

This was made for a rock chick! I didn't want it to look to girly but it still had to have a feminine touch!  The A4 sheet of Happy Birthday paper is Kanban and the ribbon is from QVC but no longer available.  The red punched paper holding up the card is 12x12 bazzill card stock cut by a Martha Stewart punch (part of the cupcake collection @ QVC)  The Button, butterfly and Happy 30th Birthday were cut out from my silhouette from mirri card and the charm is Tim Holtz.  The butterfly was cut out of white paper on the silhouette, then I used a rocket red dew drop ink pad to tint the paper.  I stamped a butterfly onto the cut out in the same ink pad and embossed  then repeated the process. One I painted it with rangers glossy accent and left to dry.  Just stuck foam pads on the back of the glossy one and bent up the wings and layered them. Added to a matt and added a few gem stones.

Used the same process for the butterfly's on the 2nd blue card.  I just used sky blue from the dew drop set I have and added blue stones.  The paper is Tim Holtz, the pale blue card is part of the bazzill pack and also cut some strips with the vintage die and stuck this around the edges with wet glue.  The flowers were cut from white velum using the Tim Holtz tattered floral's.  I inked them with same ink pad, stamped a word stamp from the same TH chic set as the butterfly and added some wet Martha Stewart glitter just using my fingers.  Once dry I layered them and added a gem stone.  Edged the card with the same ink so it all tied in together.

Both cards are A4 in size.

Everyone turns 30!

The above card was made for a very stylish Italian lady!  Used Tim Holtz distress and word charms and a wooden heart I bought from a show years ago and forgot about!  The straw was also coloured with dewdrop brilliance crimson copper.  The paper I got from my local craft shop and was just an odd sheet so I am not sure of the make.  Cutting done on the silhouette and just printed the happy birthday and tinted with pink dewdrop ink pad.  The sticker to hold up the card is K&Company.

Spiderman was made for a comic fanatic, no surprise there really! Again cut from silhouette.

The above card was made for a very good friend of mine and was just from me to her. All cutting on done on my silhouette and the stamp was from the chic TH collection.

The last of the recent onces, a guitar which was really simple just one sheet of DCWV rockstar stack and some eyelets and black ribbon.  All the cutting was done with my silhouette and all the plain coloured paper from my stash!  Great paper for a guy card who is a singer and plays!

Made last year for a shoe fanatic.  The ribbon was a dark red rather the orange it looks and I still have the positive of it above my desk and it looks fab!
Just fed a sheet of mirri card into the silhouette and done but this was my second go, Needed a very sticky matt for the heavier card and all the circles!  Used my crop-a-dile for the holes and black eyelets.

Had a busy few days, took the kids to a soft play centre, I think I was as tired as them by the end of it!  All I have made in the past few days is some bakers twine from plain crochet cotton & my pro markers. So far I have brown, pink, red and blue.  Will continue with that tomorrow but I did make a card and use the blue twine which I will put up on Sunday once I have the pics!  Wanted to share some 30th cards I have made recently for people at work.  The shoe one was last year but they were all made for the same reason so wanted to include it!  They need to be large for everyone to sign so I cut down 12x12 to A4 size and stuck together.  I now have A4 cards so will no longer have to do this!  I loved making these cards and they were made with the people in mind and best of all they loved them.  Have had 2 people ask me to make cards for them when it is their birthday as well!
