Sport on tv all weekend = crafting for me weekend!

Hellooo!
Well being banished to my craft area was such a great way to spend a weekend.  I made this card with left over things lying about!  I cut the heart out using the silhouette and edged with green ink and added the gemstone.  The scrap of green was embossed and sanded and mounted onto mirri then the lace ribbon stuck on and the white ribbon tied around it.

The green leaf paper was my inspiration for this card. It is from the first TSV I got from QVC around 4-5 years ago!  I decided it was time to use up all the old stuff I have that I don't tend to reach for.  I folded the front of the card in half and covered the part that shows with the green leaf paper and edged with the same green ink pad. Added the topper by laying the card flat (to make sure the top of it stayed within the size of the card!) and stuck on the heart with foam pads.   Stamped the happy birthday in white, tried to emboss it at first but it wasn't readable!  Trial and error but not a very good stamp to be honest and I wish I'd changed it but it all works together so I didn't want to pull it all apart!

Mounted all the layers using foam pads under the mirri layers and added it to the bottom of the card so it would hold up the front and added the card candi with foam pads.  Done!

I was also completing some secret stuff that I can't put on here yet! And I can now share a birthday card I made for a friend at work who kindly requested I made her card!  She loved it :0)

I used an A4 card,  covered in Tim Holtz paper which I had stamped and heat embossed. The Happy Birthday topper was all cut out with my silhouette and I added the glittered star wire ribbon.

More sunshine on a rainy day...

Another sunshine card!
Used the same TH stamp for the sentiment as the previous card, then mounted onto black card and added the black gem stones,  Embossed the dragonfly's again mounted onto black card after sanding and adding black ink to the edges with a sponge.  I used a TH Tattered Floral die for the flower. I cut a large and small rounded flower out of white vellum and the smaller one again in the yellow card.  I inked the white flowers with yellow brilliance ink pad then went around the edges with black on the sponge again. The large gem stone was clear but I coloured it with a black pro marker so it would match!  Stuck it all together with foam pads to give some dimension. The warm wishes sentiment is from an old QVC stamp set and again backed by black card and added a couple of gem stones.  The ribbon is dovecraft and stuck this down with tape and added the bow using silicone glue.

Now this is what is on my desk at the moment....

...will put up the finished result tomorrow once the silicone glue is dry!!!

Sunshine on a rainy day...

Was so dark earlier I needed some colour...

The card base is from QVC as is the We Are Memory Keepers 72 & Sunny papers in the yellow and orange.  The stamp is from Tim Holtz Urban Chic collection and the ribbon from my local craft shop (had to buy it in pink and green as well...already have blue!).  The flowers my mum gave me in a bag in lots of colours and the gem stones are papermania.

I used a butterfly embossing folder through my Vagabond and sanded it with the We Are Memory Keepers heart sander.  Stamped the sentiment with black Ink It Up and edged all the paper with this and the Rocket Red Gold Dew Drop Brilliance ink pad.  Taped the ribbon to the band of orange card and mounted the sentiment with foam pads.  Made a bow and attached with silicone glue and did the same for the flowers.  This was made up of scraps of paper left from other projects.  Cheap and cheerful!

Ill but inspired!

Have been in bed ill for a few days, but I was inspired by a card on QVC UK using this heart Tim Holtz stamp.  Love this stamp and don't use it enough!

The paper is from We R Memory Keepers 72 & Sunny pad and cut with a corner punch.  Inked all the edges with a green ink pad, then black.  Stamped the scrolls in the corners and went round with a ink blending tool foam pad (not on the tool, wanted a less is more approach!).  Stamped the heart and once dry coloured in with Canary Yellow, Berry Red  and Lime Green ProMarkers.

Stamped the sentiment from the same TH Urban Chic stamp set, cut around and made a little tag. The black ribbon is Dovecraft.  Added the craftwork cards card candi, topper and sentiment with foam pads.  Will be making a few of these tomorrow in different colours for friends birthdays!

First Trip To The Barbers!

My mum has been nagging me for a while to get my sons hair cut.  He had a head full of curls so was a very difficult moment for me!  Her only stipulation was to save a curl.  I made it into a card for her, added some photo's to the middle of the card and wrote on the back.

I used an embossing folder "borrowed" from my mum to do the oval and just cut around the edges, this is bazzill cardstock.  Also embossed the back blue card with a spotty embossing folder.  The sticker and round mount is by K & Company and the lace is an off cut just taped at the back.  Inked around the gingham paper with sky blue dew drop ink pad and added a few gem stones. Added the layers with foam pads for a raised effect.  The button is from a huge bargain bag from Hobbycraft and the blue striped twine I made with white twine and sky blue pro marker around a ruler.
The Star is the curl which was a nightmare to attach so used silicone glue and added the gingham bow from a QVC set of ribbons.  I think I will make myself something similar and frame it. Much better than being stuck hidden in a scrapbook or in an envelope tucked away somewhere!

Before!

During....  Poor fella lol!

Looking smart checking out the wine list!

Love these picture's... soon to be scrapbooked!

The last two 30th Cards...

This was made for a rock chick! I didn't want it to look to girly but it still had to have a feminine touch!  The A4 sheet of Happy Birthday paper is Kanban and the ribbon is from QVC but no longer available.  The red punched paper holding up the card is 12x12 bazzill card stock cut by a Martha Stewart punch (part of the cupcake collection @ QVC)  The Button, butterfly and Happy 30th Birthday were cut out from my silhouette from mirri card and the charm is Tim Holtz.  The butterfly was cut out of white paper on the silhouette, then I used a rocket red dew drop ink pad to tint the paper.  I stamped a butterfly onto the cut out in the same ink pad and embossed  then repeated the process. One I painted it with rangers glossy accent and left to dry.  Just stuck foam pads on the back of the glossy one and bent up the wings and layered them. Added to a matt and added a few gem stones.

Used the same process for the butterfly's on the 2nd blue card.  I just used sky blue from the dew drop set I have and added blue stones.  The paper is Tim Holtz, the pale blue card is part of the bazzill pack and also cut some strips with the vintage die and stuck this around the edges with wet glue.  The flowers were cut from white velum using the Tim Holtz tattered floral's.  I inked them with same ink pad, stamped a word stamp from the same TH chic set as the butterfly and added some wet Martha Stewart glitter just using my fingers.  Once dry I layered them and added a gem stone.  Edged the card with the same ink so it all tied in together.

Both cards are A4 in size.

Everyone turns 30!

The above card was made for a very stylish Italian lady!  Used Tim Holtz distress and word charms and a wooden heart I bought from a show years ago and forgot about!  The straw was also coloured with dewdrop brilliance crimson copper.  The paper I got from my local craft shop and was just an odd sheet so I am not sure of the make.  Cutting done on the silhouette and just printed the happy birthday and tinted with pink dewdrop ink pad.  The sticker to hold up the card is K&Company.

Spiderman was made for a comic fanatic, no surprise there really! Again cut from silhouette.

The above card was made for a very good friend of mine and was just from me to her. All cutting on done on my silhouette and the stamp was from the chic TH collection.

The last of the recent onces, a guitar which was really simple just one sheet of DCWV rockstar stack and some eyelets and black ribbon.  All the cutting was done with my silhouette and all the plain coloured paper from my stash!  Great paper for a guy card who is a singer and plays!

Made last year for a shoe fanatic.  The ribbon was a dark red rather the orange it looks and I still have the positive of it above my desk and it looks fab!
Just fed a sheet of mirri card into the silhouette and done but this was my second go, Needed a very sticky matt for the heavier card and all the circles!  Used my crop-a-dile for the holes and black eyelets.

Had a busy few days, took the kids to a soft play centre, I think I was as tired as them by the end of it!  All I have made in the past few days is some bakers twine from plain crochet cotton & my pro markers. So far I have brown, pink, red and blue.  Will continue with that tomorrow but I did make a card and use the blue twine which I will put up on Sunday once I have the pics!  Wanted to share some 30th cards I have made recently for people at work.  The shoe one was last year but they were all made for the same reason so wanted to include it!  They need to be large for everyone to sign so I cut down 12x12 to A4 size and stuck together.  I now have A4 cards so will no longer have to do this!  I loved making these cards and they were made with the people in mind and best of all they loved them.  Have had 2 people ask me to make cards for them when it is their birthday as well!

Heart Shaped Box

I didn't craft today :0(
But finally got out of the house with chicken pox free children!  I met a friend for lunch and did a bit of retail therapy for the kids and myself!  Got to see a little of Dawn on C&C then time to do dins for the lil uns!  Catching up on Suits tonight, such a good show but we are a few weeks behind.  Love V+!  Would like to still share something tho!  Made this for all my daughter's hair bits n bobs as they were everywhere.  It didn't work as they are still everywhere but this still looks nice in her room!

The heart shaped box was purchased from Hobbycraft, the paper is K&Company Hopscotch paper pad and the butterfly that I put on a Docrafts spring was also K&Company from the matching embelishment set.  The Felt flowers are from my local craft shop and the fabric flower from a Petaloo set I Love You from QVC.  It was simple to do but a little fiddly so needed patience and lots of glue!
It doesn't look like this now as my 2 year old son got hold of it but it is in line to be repaired!!!!

Peek-a-boo Page Two!

Page Two!
Used the same papers, inks and Tim Holtz die as earlier and added two embelishments from the K& Company embelishment kit.  Coloured the rosette with the same pro marker and stuck it together with double sided tape and foam tape. Really pleased with how they turned out however page two is not quite finished! There is definitely room for a few more "bits" to be added when I get more boy stuff.  I seem to overloaded in pink from my daughters scrapbook bits!

                                                                  The two pages together.

Peek-a-boo!

Hurrah! I finally got some scrapbooking done yesterday.  It took all day of leaving it and going back to it till I was sure I was happy with it but I got there in the end!
I wanted bright colours to match his pile of toys and chose the blue to tone it all down a bit!  The bright circles paper is from a summer DCWV box from QVC that I've had for a bit and not used that much!  The blue spotty is K&Company  from sparkly sweet collection pad and the dark blue is cardstock from the DCWV set.  I cut the blue and blue spotty in half and stuck onto a plain white sheet of 12x12 (I use the inserts the scrapbooks come with to save £).  It save's wasting half of each side and the bits left will help with the double page spread I eventually want it to be part of!  I then edged everywhere with pearlescent sky blue. The peek-a-boo was from K&Company Sweet pea baby boy vellum quotes book and in a pale brown.  I went over it with a pro marker in Indigo Blue to match my page then used four blue docraft brads from an essential brights pack to hold it all together.  The ribbon is a celebrate ribbon from hobbycraft and the heart embelishment was made by me with my silhouette!  I coloured it with the blue inkpad and then just traced it onto the back of the spotty paper and cut out and added it with foam. Used my Tim Holtz vintage die for the lacy border in a pale blue cardstock and stuck this down with wet glue and it was completed....now time for me to go make the second page with all the left over bits of paper!

New Arrivals!

Lost my mojo a little today.  If anyone finds it please let me know!  It took all afternoon to make a card that I don't really like!

A friend had a girl this week so I will be making the girl version of this card tomorrow ( will put it up once card has been received!).

This was a quick card to make but that is because I used the silhouette to cut the baby edged paper and the boy cloud.  I edged it all with yet again brilliance ink pad in pearlescent sky blue and covered the boy and stars in Martha Stewart glitter glue and then stuck together with foam pads, letting the "boy" bit just hang.
The ribbon was a gift from my oldest friend, also a crafter who was living in the states when I had my son and sent me a bag of blue scrapbooking goodies!  As the card was made for her grandson only fair to use it!

Silhouette & Stamps

Managed to make 2 cards when I got home after dinner out last night, then 3 more this afternoon.  Even started a scrapbook page, but then gave up when I realised how much mess I was making & dinner was ready!  Seem to have everything to hand for card making these days!

This I made for a family friend a few months ago, she is adorable so wanted to make something different.  I had then only recently ordered the Lindsay Mason stamps Hoist The Flags from QVC and hadn't used them so thought I'd try them out!

Used a scrap bit of green and blue card for the background and then got stamping on some white card using stamping up pixie pink.  I just used pro markers on the castle and bunting.  There were some tree stamps in the pack but I just stamped them in blue and cut off the trunk, turned them upside down and they made great clouds!   Added Martha Stewart pink glitter to the castle, green for definition for the grass and blue to the clouds and stuck it all down with foam pads. Once mounted on mirri and pink card I didn't think it needed anything else.

Used some scrap silver mirri and pink card to cut out the shapes on the silhouette. and matt & layered them up together again using foam pads.  Finally edged the card with  Pearlescent Orchid Brilliance dew drop ink pad and it was finished! Turned out to be a really quick card to make.

Spent a great afternoon at a Play centre (ball pools are painful though!) and birthday tea was enjoyed by all!

Vintage Inspirations!

Day 2 of my blog, and 11 days off to craft and add pictures!  This is one of my favorite cards I have made and was a recent random make!   Had a spare half hour and got out some new stamps I had treated myself to!   All inks are from a set of 24 Dew Drops that I bought a few years ago and are still going strong despite almost daily use...might have to replace the black soon tho!

For the topper  I started off with a scrap of  pink Tim Holtz card from the  Idea-ology lost & found 12 x 12 stash.   The stamps are Tim Holtz The Journey & Regal Flourish  sets.

First I stamped all the artwork, the corner stamp was done in silver with clear embossing powder, then the wings and scrolls with crimson copper ink.  The Journey and Lion stamp were used with galaxy gold and gold embossing powder.  Next stamped the creativity and crown stamp in white then over stamped with crimson copper. This is so easy to do with clear stamps and I love this look.  Finished with crimson copper and white all around the edges and mounted on gold mirri card with a thin border.

Used yet more Tim Holtz with the vintage die for the middle borders using the matching paper to the background  (from a my minds eye set) and mounted them either side of  a piece of brown card then added a ribbon and button from my stash!

When my PC died for a month I used my silhouette on a friends mac and different images appeared!  Ended up cutting a few pages of the lovely butterfly's just on white card so I could colour them all to match my projects!  Finally I used the butterfly stamp from Urban Chic Tim Holtz set on them  in white and embossed with white powder, then inked over with the Crimson copper.   Stuck it all together with foam tape and voila!

Back with a new card tomorrow!

Tuesday 3 April 2012

Have been wanting to scrapbook but seem to be chained to my desk making cards for the moment, such hardship!  I need to use up some of the nice papers I have to I can buy more.  I am only on page 7 of my son's scrapbook, he is now 2 so a little behind!

Bank Holiday weekend coming up and no work for a week so will be uploading my card and  scrabooking images to share then actually getting on with some!

It's my Father in law's birthday on Thursday and as usual making a heap of cards for him as well as his card!  Made a pouch card for his Arsenal tickets as well so nearly done!  I think he only buys my birthday card now and he always chooses something kinda handmade ish!  Bless him.  Not going out to celebrate now as chickenpox has spread from big one to lil one, might take his fav fish n chips round for him even though I'm a veggie!

Back to the real world.  Gotta be up @ 6am for work but hurrah Wednesday is my Friday!

Back with pictures soon.....
