Never enough time in a day!

So busy making cards again that I forget to post!

Made a few more baby & kids cards recently and all but one have been received so here are those few...

I think this is one of my favorite cards that I have ever made, it's up there with Evie's (my daughter's) 7th birthday card! Made for a guy at work celebrating the birth of his daughter. A4 again.

A close up of the topper which could have just been a normal sized card by itself!

I was asked to make these for a twins 1st birthday!  These were just normal sized cards for a change!

and the last two are a maternity leave card and congratulations card for the same polish lady, hence the language!

Only 2 more A4 birthday cards to just add a finishing touch too and 1 more to make tomorrow night then I can finally start making some christmas cards! Every year I vow to start in January and here we are again, no cards and no time!!!

Tiered Cake Card...

I am determined to keep updating my blog till I've caught up with all the cards I've made.  This time, it's one from August!!!

Another A4 card, for a special lady...

The papers I used were K&Co Scrap Pad To Go ~ Chocolate Neopolitan collection and 2 sheets of gold mirri board. Plus one sheet of white card stock for the cake print out.
The cake is printed from the Block Party Portfolio from Quickutz from my silhouette software.  I added the candles onto the image and added 5 more separately on the page as I wanted to cut them all out including the cake.  I coloured all of the cake and candles with promarkers and used gilding flakes on the cake stand.  Then cut it all out and layered it so the candles were decoupaged.

I used the stately circles from Spellbinders for the rosette using all the same card as before and the ribbon's and button are from my stash. The hat pins are from Create & Craft and the gems from my local craft shop, I think they were papermania brand.

I wanted to do something a bit different and hadn't really used the images for printing, just cutting.  I should use the silhouette and the software more.  All the layers were stuck with foam pads and the ribbon and hat pins with a glue gun.

Well after a kids party turned into an all day outing it's definitely time for bed at 9.30pm! This weekend I have made 4 more A4 cards as well so they will all be up here once received.

Watch out pirates ahoy...

Back again, I've been so busy making cards, running round after the family, decorating and working that I have really neglected this blog, time to remedy that!

I have mostly been making cards again, but I did find time for a bit of scrap booking one Sunday morning...

The picture has been staring at me for months, in a rack of papers but where I could see it.  Taunting me!

First I chopped up the paper to make a card with my son for one of his friend's birthdays as I knew it was a bit bold for a whole scrap booking page...

We made this together...

Then a week later I did this!

I was attacked one Sunday morning in bed by pirate's.  As you can see they were quite intimidating and did get their breakfast demands met!

I am getting asked about Christmas cards now and only have a few left over from last year!  One year I will actually start them in January!  No new ones made at all so that is the next project.  Luckily I have all my Christmas stuff in one place so time to dig it all out.

In the meantime I will be posting more pics of all the large A4 cards I have been making...

Welcome baby Daniel...

We got to meet baby Daniel...

It was his naming ceremony yesterday so I made him a card and a door hanger for his room.

Made with little boy blue kit from create and craft. with a spellbinder die, a Martha Stewart punch and some ribbon and buttons thrown in.

Door Hanger

Using an MDF hanger from Hobbycraft I covered it in ranger Broken China paint after sanding down the edges! I then used a spellbinder die to cut out the aperture and saved what I had cut.  I inked everywhere with a Tim Holtz denim ink pad and stuck the paper onto the wood with glossy accents making the showing paint around the aperture glossy (that last bit was a happy accident!).  The toys banner is like a parchment which i decided to tear and ink then put the glossy accent behind the lettering to stick it. I used ribbon that I used on the card and the same heart button with string and just knotted it together and glued with a glue gun.  The circle is what was cut out for the handle which I topped with a sticker from the same Little Boy Blue kit, and the letters were from the same kit.  The baby gro is K & Co from my scrapbook stash!

A lovely keepsake for a lovely little boy...and I stole him for a bit!

Awww he is adorable!

Someone turned 4!

Happy 4th Birthday to my little Mr Handsome!  Well my son Thomas was 4 on Thursday so as usual I made the cards and was left wrapping all the parcels! He had his favorite chocolate cake and went bowling and as the only person to get a strike he won!  He loves frogs so they had to be included in some of his cards!

Choo Choo!

This was an A4 card which I cut using a Craftwork Cards template, I also cut the template out of K & Co paper and stuck it on the front.  The 4 was cut using a silhouette die cutting machine (with the black surround cut by eye) and the black Thomas plate is a spellbinders die.  The frog stamp is from Hobbycraft, as is the ribbon and the circles for the wheels.  To make the black wheel trims I used a Tim Holtz clock stamp which was covered by the circles and the twine is also Tim Holtz.  The banner is Stampin' up as is the star stamp and the border is a Martha Stewart punch which i did twice and layered.  I printed son from the PC and used the banner punch to cut it.  Then I used a little bit of Card Candi from Craftwork Cards to finish it all off.  All edged with a dark blue ink pad!

Jeremy Fisher
Each year for my father in laws birthday I make a make a gift of making all his cards for the year, for him and my brother in law!
I saw this stamp in Hobbycraft ages ago and got it just for a Thomas card!  I stamped it twice, coloured with pro markers and cut one out to layer him up.  I used spellbinders to cut the circles and printed out the special grandson sentiment and cut into a banner/flag by hand.  The Happy Birthday tags are also spellbinders and the stamps were from a Hobbycraft set.  The ribbon is from QVC from when they used to actually have craft on!  The 4 is from a K&Co chipboard set that I have kept and use as templates!  The stripey paper is from a Gorjuss pack and all edged and stamped in Adirondak Lake Mist which I found cheaply on crafty sellers on facebook!

All Aboard!

For my brother in law I made this for him to give, the spotty paper is from Stampin' Up and the blue card is from my stash.  I embossed a Couture Creations tied together folder for the sea to give it texture and just used a scrunched up ink tool pad with white ink to make the clouds.  The boat is a Sizzix die my dads cousin gave me which Thomas liked the look of in the box and I cut this out of scraps and added a 4 sticker.  The sun is Card Candi and the stamps are from a Male set by Papermania.  All edged with a pale blue ink!

Next on the list is more A4 cards for work then it's time to start on Christmas!

But first Dinosaur Golf!  I hate golf but Dinosaur golf is fun!

Steampunk Male Card...

This was another A4 card for work, for someone special!

I used spellbinders die for the cogs and a Kanban stamp and Promarkers for the figure.  The card is plain black A4 and the beige is from a Gorjuss pack of 12 x 12.  I embossed using a couture creations folder on gold card and finished with a Hobbycraft happy birthday stamp with archival ink.  The ribbon is black plastic and was given to me so I have no idea where they came from (!) and the gems are Papermania.

Quite a simple card once all the bits were cut out!

Opened Early...

Happy 50th Birthday Anthony!

made another A4 card but this time for family, for my cousin who is 50 on Thursday but was naughty and opened the card whilst we were there on Monday!

I discovered something new at a demo on Saturday called Gentle blends by Pinflair, I also got some Pinflair glitter paste all from my local craft shop, Carshalton Crafts.  I went mad as I had to get the Indigo Blu flourish stamp as only one left in stock!

I used dark blue co ordinations and plain white A4 which I masked off with the clock mask and inked using just cut & dry foam.  I then stamped the flourish over the top in the same Mediterranean blue gentle blends then edged with the glitter paste.  I used another mask for the cogs frame and ran it through my Vagabond then inked in the same way as the background.  The Happy Birthday is a long Sizzix flower birthday die, but I just cut them off!  The 50th is Tim Holtz Carnival letters.

Although most people will not have a card the same as I make all of them different even if they are similar they are never the same, I definitely know this is a one off as I made the background paper!

I loved using this product and said I would see the owner of the shop on payday as I want at least two more colours!

A little birdie...

Well I know I have not posted for a while but I have to wait for the birthdays to pass before I put my cards up just in case!  Here is an A4 bird & cage card I made for work.

The papers are First Edition, and I chose the colours after someone said they were not sure on pink & green, one of my favorite combo's!  The bird and cage are a Tim Holtz die and the ribbon from Hobbycraft.  The ribbon is just part of my stash and actually tied together the small packs envelopes in the old smaller card packs I used to buy!  I printed out the sentiment and then cut with spellbinders die's.  The button is from a huge stash I have and the hat pins were from create and craft. Last but not least is the bling, from poundland!  They are great for colouring with alcohol markers as well and will show this in my blog tomorrow.

The hat pins, so lovely in glass.

The best way to glue this is with a heat gun, I only got one recently as I was making so many big cards but for £10 I should have got one sooner!

Rouge Ruffles!

Another A4 dress card for work. This time in red and gold.

I had a 3 week break of craft recently.  I made what should have been a quick card on Sunday and it took hours for me to put it together!  I really miss scrapbooking and was getting bored of just making cards so I had lost my enthusiasm and just completely lost my mojo! Today is scrapbook day and I have a lovely recent picture of some tyrants that has inspired me so I'm going to do that later!  I will post when it is completed!

Coral request...

Birthday dresses!

Here is another of the steampunk Kanban stamps, love my promarkers at the moment!
I asked what was the best colour and was advised the persons wardrobe was mainly filled with coral!

I used A4 anita's carstock, american crafts spring carstock, gold textured cardstock and the stripy paper and ribbon is from the gorjuss collection.  The ribbon bow and button is from my stash and I used spellbinders die's and a tim holtz rosette die.  The embossing folder is also tim holtz.

And just to compare this is the card I made for the same person last year!

This was made using a free Debbie Moore CD from a magazine for the dress, dummy and papers.  A Tim Holtz calender card and some twine and beads and the Birthday tag is by Craftwork Cards.  The skirt was easy to make, just folded but when I made it a second time for another card it was a nightmare!  Just a case of practicing I guess!

I made this blue folded version for an old school friend as well, I wouldn't have purchased one of these CD's previously but now I might as I can see how versatile they are and you can make so many!

I like to keep a record of what I make, so if nothing else when you get stuck you can look back and steal some idea's back from yourself!

A little bird...

Another one using the Sizzix birdcage and K&Co papers!
Made for a friends birthday!

The flower is a Sizzex die layerd up and the doily is a spellbinders die.  All edged with a Tim Holtz ink pad brushed corduroy.  The Happy Birthday stamp is from a Hobbycraft set and the banner is from the same K&Co pad as the papers (Chocolate Neopolitan).  The gold card stock and the card was purchased from Create and Craft.

Spent the afternoon in a pub garden, finding it hard to craft when the sun shines!

Happy Sunday All!

Yellow Boutique...2!

I liked the last one so much when I had to make an A4 card for a lovely colleague at work (I have to say that as she sits next to me and I have to talk to her all day!!!) I used the same colours but different papers and embellishments!

Same papers as before (see my previous blog post yellow boutique for info) as well as the beige patterned paper from the same gorjuss pack as the striped paper and the mini rosette is from a Tim Holtz die.

Now I'm off to go and make something that has no yellow in it!

Yellow Boutique...

For Chloe...

I purchased the Kanban dress stamps and Tim Holtz embossing folder at the same time, I knew they would make a great combo!  I coloured the dress in a few colours with promarkers but the yellow was definitely the favorite for me! The Shakespeare words are a stamp I purchased at a may day fair for £1 and the best wishes is from a set from Hobbycraft.  The roses I made myself from black card and the left over We Are Memory Keepers yellow paper.  The stripe paper is from the 12x12 gorjuss packs and the Martha Stewart punch was out again for the black trellis border for more texture.  I used spellbinders for the ovals and the button is from a huge Hobbycraft pack.  The bakers twine is Tim Holtz again, this is my new favorite way of attaching buttons! The frame and corners are cut out from a sheet in the gorjuss pack.

I liked this so much I made a variation on an A4 sized version given yesterday so coming next!

Father's Day...Part 2!

For my father in law!
One in a million, takes my daughter to school and looks after my 3 year old 3 days a week!

Another simple card really, the topper and papers were from the men's kit I got from create and craft for just the postage and the football paper is from a papermania kit I think from a few years ago.  The Father's day banner was created in a word doc and the rosette from the tim holtz die.  All mounted on gold textured cardstock again from create and craft.  All edged with ink, as always.

I hope that gave some inspiration for some mens cards, the banner can always just be changed to happy birthday!

Father's Day...

This is for my dad...

He had some great tools I could "borrow" for my 1st nice car that I actually looked after. Thanks Dad!

This is him mucking about at littlehampton with me and my now 7 year old daughter!

The brick embossing folder and topper were from my local craft shop and were not branded but thought I would share the idea anyway!  I printed out the happy fathers day onto plain paper made up just in a word doc. The rosette is a tim holtz die with a no1 from the male anita's range I think.  The stripey paper is from create and craft male kit which I only had to pay the postage for and the topper is backed by spellbinders!
i just added some card candi to finish it off.

Another father's day card next time, my father in law so a sports theme!

Turning 7....

I starting making this for my daughter from her "Grampy" but it got lost under piles of paper and I forgot about it!  Finished it off and gave to her best friend instead so it went to a good home!

Just used some lovely papers and cut using my silhouette.  The banner is hand cut and the pole is a tube of pink card.  The flowery paper is from QVC, the pinks from create and craft and the background paper is from Hobbycraft.  I inked around the edges and just added bling!

Just a quick blog as I didn't manage it this week, but uploading more now ready for this week!

Stitching...real or faux

Well it's sunday again so time for my guest design spot on http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/

This week it's Stitching, real of faux.
The only real rule is that you must create a new christmas holiday, winter or Hanukkah card and means by Christmas there is no panic that you have none made!

For this weeks challenge I choose faux! I have a lovely set of stitch stamps from hot off the press. I used the pointsetia modern, the ribbon and the lilac paper from papermania and the teal paper is from making memories. I used a spellbinder die and a cotoure creations embossing folder. I cut the banners myself and the sentiments stamps were from the same hotp kit. This is my final week as guest designer for http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/. I hope you all enjoyed my creations!

New baby...

I made this A4 card weeks ago but as it was only given yesterday I couldn't show it!  I always make sure it's been given before I share it!

Made with the silhouette, spellbinders and a Martha Stewart punch.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up the 'brads' are actually Card Candi from Craftwork Cards.

The white and pink paper is from American Crafts spring/valentine and the stiped paper is just from my stash and it's all edged with Tim Holtz distress ink worn lipstick.

It was well received by a work colleague as he is now back at work... as well as a high street voucher card and a night out for the proud parents to get a break!

Happy Crafting

Candles

Well it's sunday again so time for my guest design spot on http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/

This week it's a Candles. The only real rule is that you must create a new christmas holiday, winter or Hanukkah card and means by Christmas there is no panic that you have none made!

Well for this weeks challenge I discovered I had nothing with candles! Luckily I have a silhouette and downloaded a candle file for only 33p as they are were on sale! I cut in 2 different shades of red from the Valentine american crafts pack. I also cut out the frame at the same time, well my silhouette did the hard work! The flower is a Papermania traditional and the gold embellishments are remenants of last years Christmas crackers! That's why crafters hoard everything!!!  All the stickers are Papermania I think and the ribbon is from the same crackers!  All the glitter is Martha Stewart and the flame is gold gilding flakes.  The stripe paper is American crafts again!  Another quick card to put together thanks to my silhouette!

As it's my daughters 7th birthday today we are off to host a bowling party this morning and have cake at my parents this afternoon! Here is then & now...

Awww happy birthday my little pickle!

Happy sunday

Men's Birthday's

Sometime's tough but with a silhouette you can download anything that is out there and bam!!!

Card for a friend...

My silhouette cut out the skull background and the bats.  I also cut a fence a haunted house and some spooky trees but it looked nice as it was so I left it!  The coloured background paper is Tim Holtz and I used the gears spellbinders dies.  The Happy Birthday stamp is by Kirsty Wiseman.  All inked on the edges with a black momento ink pad.

He loved it!

I then found this on the silhouette website and couldn't resist, for him it's old fashioned vampire's of course not the new fancy ones!

He loved it!

I have a craft fair coming up so off to start the canvas which I didn't get time to start the other day and while it is drying start on cards for the fair!

Christmas Colour Combo...

Well it's sunday again so time for my guest design spot on http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/

This week it's a Colour Combo of Teal, Brown and Cream. The only real rule is that you must create a new christmas holiday, winter or Hanukkah card and means by Christmas there is no panic that you have none made!

Love the colour combo on this!  The ribbons were just part of my stash, the teal paper is cut with a Martha Stewart punch and the cream and brown is american crafts papers.  I used my spellbinders on the embossed paper which I did with a creative expressions folder and rubbed over with teal ink.  The button is from a collection which I definitely should have got a larger jar for...

Today is about planning a 7th birthday party and making a canvas for my daughter as a present which will be up here in a week or so!  And coming soon a scrapbook page from my experience yesterday at demo by Ken from Spellbinders!  My poor other halfs credit card!!! So thankful I get to craft everyday somehow or somewhere.

Totally Gorjuss!

30th Birthday Banner Card

One that was hard to give away!

Another A4 card for work and as it was a special birthday I had to make the banner card with some gorjuss papers and as the receiver loves cats the picture was an easy choice!

Here is another alternative I made for another cat lover!

And as she is a great friend I also made her this...
An 8x10" silver frame with the glass removed, she mainly wears black so didn't want any colour in this at all!

Gorjuss!

Christmas Shaped Card...

I know it's not Christmas but crafter's make these all year round so I was delighted to be asked to be a guest designer in May for  http://www.christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/

The idea of the challenge is to make a Christmas, holiday or Hanukkah card and this week it's...
Week 23 - Shaped Cards

"Holidays House"

What you need to make this card:
House shape template from Craftwork Cards
1 blank 8 x 8 card
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Fired Brick - used with distress tool
Any red ribbons you have
Stickers: "Home for The Holidays" WRMK
Candy Cane sticker from stash non branded
Papers:   12 x 12 Green - My Minds Eye and Red - Making Memories Skinny Stripe (reverse side)
For the snow Martha Stewart Glitter Glue pen
Black liner pen for the windows
Glossy accents for the windows and as a general glue
Foam Pads

How to:
To make this I traced around the house template butting the non chimney side to the spine of the card so it would stand up.  Alternatively you can cut two and score the back one (sticking it above the score line) so it stands up and you can open it.  I cut this out and edged with the Distress Ink.
The top of the card is where it will open.

Next I used the template again to cut out the green and the red for the roof.  I used the leftovers and cut the windows free hand as I didn't want them perfectly square.  I edged all the papers again with the same ink and stuck them on the card using glossy accents.  Then I glued on the ribbons, both from a red set I purchased from QVC UK a few years ago and stuck the Holiday sticker on the roof.
For the windows I used a fine liner to put a cross on the windows then the glossy accents to make them look like glass and edged it all with the Martha Stewart glitter glue.  Once dry stick them to the house using foam pads. Repeat with the door and add a wreath or Candy Cane sticker.  Covered everything in the glitter glue and left it to dry!

It was quick to make so might make a few more for this years cards!

Hope you like my first week's card and look back next week for a new holiday card.

1st Birthday...

My new stash of paper finally arrived for me to make this card!  I made this for my friends daughter, and included a charm which I have a few more of and will add on further birthday cards for her.

Bits & Bobs:
8x8 White Card Stock
Silver Mirri Card
All patterned papers are Bazzill Basics 6 x6 Vintage Cardstock Collection (QVC)

Pink Card Candi
Stampin Up Banner Punch & Stamp set
Hobbycraft Pink Happy Birthday Ribbon
SpellbindersShapeabilities Les Papillions Two Die (Butterfly)
Non branded pink ink pad
Pink Ribbon from stash to make the bow

The 1 was made using the patterned paper stuck onto grungeboard, turning it over and tracing a chipboard 1.  I purchased the set years ago before I got my silhouette and Vagabond so I would have a template. Still useful 6 years later on occasion!

Special Birthday cards...

Banner Card...

There have been a few special birthdays at work, mine included!  I was 40, I wanted to do something that involved my little ones so bowling was the best option!  I don't think I have played for about 8 years apart from on the wii!  It was good fun and we all said we should get together and go there more often.

So I made this A4 card for a lovely lady who is always complimenting my artwork!  I was fed up of dreary winter so as it's nearly spring I went for the bright colour's.

The bunting is made with a Stamping Up punch, the green and blue flowery paper is First Edition Spring collection and the plain cardstock is bazzil basics.  The flower is made up with qvc petaloo brights and the 40 was cut out using my silhouette.  The smaller letters are a Tim Holtz die vintage market.  It is all edged with a baby blue ink pad.  I added a butterfly from spellbinders at the end but didn't get a picture!  I will get one though and add it on here later!  I loved the spring colours on this and even a few guys said how much they liked this one!

Another one, this time a 30th!  Very different though, my spellbinders have definitely arrived! Again A4 using cream bazzil and black A4 cardstock.  A couple of pins which I obtained from create and craft. The black ribbon was from my local craft shop and the feathers were donated to me ages ago from a colleague who obtained them from a party shop!  The gems are papermania.

My boss kindly sent me an email with everyone's birthdays last week so now I had better get on with them now I have some advanced warning!    Also starting to work on things for a guest design team role with another blog website and I am trying to build up some stock to start up my business so no time for me to get up to any mischief at the moment!
